Maximize Monday: Optimize Your Facebook for the Holidays

TeePublic

It’s that time of year again - the air is getting colder, the days are getting shorter, everyone’s still mad about Starbucks cups for some reason. Ah, the holidays…

We want to make sure you are as prepped as possible for what’s to come in the next several weeks. You should have already gotten an email from your account manager to start planning your promotional strategy, and maybe you’ve even promoted one of the sales already! We want to make sure you’ve got all the tools to maximize your sales so today, we’ve got some hot tips on how to maximize your Facebook page for the holidays (click here to check out our tips on maximizing other social platforms).

Make use of video

How many times have you been scrolling through Facebook only to find that you’ve been distracted by watching a cooking video for the last minute? Yeah, us too, which is why it’s such a perfect tool! You can utilize the video format with ads (your account manager can even make you some sweet gif ads) or you can turn your Facebook into your own personal YouTube channel. Your fans won’t believe their eyes!

Don’t ignore that “live” option

Regardless of your own personal opinion on Facebook live videos, you have to admit that they draw in the viewers! You can use a live unboxing video to alert your Facebook fans to our variety of products and designs (email your account manager for samples for this!) or show them some of your favorite things in your TP store. The options are endless!

Boost 👏 those 👏 posts 👏

You know that little boost button that comes up when you post something on Facebook? Well, turns out it’s NOT just for your self-esteem (ba dum tss) but you can actually use that to make sure your post reaches even more people than it normally would. Not sure how to do this? Contact that account manager and they’ll help you :)

Pay attention to when you have the most action

I know this sounds like a pretty obvious tip but let’s be honest, sometimes we just want to get that post OUT and we don’t think about who’s going to see it. Since we’ve still got a little bit before the big day, I’d recommend starting to pay attention to the times that you get the most traffic to your page. Maybe your audience is full of night owls or students or people just trying to take a break from work in the middle of the day. Use that to help inform when you post to promote your store!

Make your posts stand out

We know that we’re not the only place with deals for the holidays, and we know that we’re not going to be the only place advertising these sales. Though the holidays mean a higher rate of return, they also mean a higher rate of competition. It’s super important to consider all of this and make sure that your posts stand out so your fans don’t scroll past them. Consider promoting specific designs that you feel will sell well, using different types of images for your posts (models, the items in action, etc). Your account manager is a great resource here! They can help come up with new ideas for these and help make sure they’re executed well.

Make your posts look organic

We focus a lot on pulling out all the stops with slick ads but we’ve found that some audiences respond best when something looks like something you posted yourself as part of your regular posting process. You know your audience best and this is a great way to mix up your posting style!

Good luck and don't forget to reach out if you have any questions!
